The SEW Suzhou Smart Factory covers an area of 50,000 square meters with a construction area of 60,000 square meters and officially commenced production in July 2023. Its core feature lies in a unique two-story design, centered around a 17.5-meter-high semi-finished and finished product automated warehouse that spans both floors and connects all production workshops. The factory is also equipped with raw material warehouses, a steel bar warehouse, and a standard parts automated warehouse. Through AGV intelligent handling systems and EMS overhead monorail conveying systems, it enables automatic storage, cross-floor transportation of all materials, and seamless integration with production processes, significantly shortening logistics routes.

In terms of system configuration, the factory deploys specialized automated warehouses for different materials: the steel bar warehouse uses truss robots for automatic feeding, while the standard parts warehouse adopts a four-way shuttle system to realize "goods-to-person" picking. The in-plant logistics is mainly handled by AGV systems for horizontal transportation. Additionally, contactless power supply technology is innovatively applied to power AGVs, stackers and other equipment, achieving maintenance-free operation. All logistics equipment is highly integrated and coordinated by information systems such as WMS, MES and SAP, forming an intelligent and digital system for the entire process.
